In 2000, the Diocese of Limerick Heritage Project was set up, which aimed to present a brief history of each parish in the Diocese. The work was carried out by Matthew Tobin and Lisa O'Connor, students of Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.

In the course of the project, Lisa and Matthew visited each parish to photograph these sites. They also gathered information on the locality from the parishioners in each area.

This website and subsequent CD-ROM were designed by Charles Healy and Lisa O'Connor of Lúnasa Design. The CD-ROM will be made available to schools in the Diocese, and will be available for the public to buy from the Abbey Bookstore, O'Connell Street, Limerick, and from the Limerick Diocesan Office for €15. All proceeds from the CD-ROM will go towards the restoration of St John's Cathedral.
